Bible Story - David and Goliath.  Theme - Crosses

Today seems bittersweet as Summer Camp is almost over.  We went outside to play for a bit while it was still pretty nice out.  I had a few kids come in at a time and we made badges of Courage using different elements.  Like David had the courage to stand up to Goliath with God's help, we will be able to do the same.  After all the kids had made their badge, we came in to eat our snack and watch another video of David and Goliath.  We went to the gym to play and run off some energy.  We had our usual hoops and balls to play with.  They ran and play together with friends.  Both of the ELP classes came into our room to watch a Paw Patrol episode and eat animal crackers for a snack instead of popcorn.

We had little beads, glitter, jewels and sequins for the kids to use to decorate their "Badge of Courage". I wrapped the stars in aluminum foil to make them shiny.  We talked about how the Paw Patrol had badges too.

I wish I had their energy.  The kids love to get out the hoops and have us roll them across the floor.  Some of my friends have learned how to do this by themselves. They like to play catch with the balls too and are getting good at catching as well as throwing them to you.

The kids were standing in the hallway by the Commons waiting for me.  I had to pick up something before we went back to the room.  They were singing Jesus Loves Me with the other lead teacher and aides.  I was very proud of all of them.  They were being so good standing and singing.

Sitting and enjoying the movie.  Some of my friends sat on the floor while others sat on chairs.  They all had a snack of animal crackers to eat while watching the movie.  You have to have a snack to watch a movie.

All of my friends standing with their "Badge of Courage" they had made.  I think they turned out cute.
