Bible story for this week - David and Goliath and the theme - Crosses

This is our last week of Summer Camp.  I have enjoyed working with your children this summer.  It has been a challenge at times but we worked thru it.  The kids have been so much fun to be with and they are making new friends and learning to share with others.

Today we did some playing with blocks, toy trucks, and of course the play dough.  I even got out the tent for the kids to hang out in. We did color a picture of David and Goliath too. We watched a video on David and Goliath.  They realized that David wasn't very big and Goliath was a giant.  We ate snack and the Kona Ice Truck showed up.  We were able to sit outside in lawn chairs against the building to eat our snow cones.  It wasn't quite as messy as last time but we enjoyed it.  We came back inside after our snow cone and listened to some music while waiting a turn to do dauber art.  They used the dauber to paint the dots on a picture of a school.  We went to the gym to play and wear off some of the sugar from the snow cones.  The preschool class was in the gym and some of my little ones saw their brother or sister there. The preschool kids watched out for the younger ones, even playing games with them. We came back to the room and danced to Baby Shark before lunch.

Playing in different areas of the class room.  The tent has been the go to toy lately.  There is sometimes at least 5-6 kids in there along with all the toys they bring along.

Sitting quietly watching the story of David and Goliath.

All sitting and eating their snow cones.  We weren't quite as messy as last time. The truck pulled close to the sidewalk so the we wouldn't get wet.  The teachers and aides got the snow cones, added their flavor of choice and gave to each child sitting down.  This way the kids didn't get wet.

Our dauber art.  They used a bingo dauber to paint the dots on the school.  I still have not figured out how I end up with dauber paint all over me and I am not the one painting.  The kids love the idea of using a dauber to make pictures.

We were in the gym to run off the sugar from the snow cones.  The preschool kids had the mats out to roll on. The little ones loved it.  Some rolled around on it and others just jumped.  There were the balls and hoops out to use as well.  Some just ran around the gym.  Had to get the shoes on before we left the gym.
