Bible story - Jonah and the Whale. Theme - Animals

It has been a beautiful day today.  Our "Wheels" day was rescheduled from last week so we had a great day to be outside.  We made our craft early this morning so we would have more time outside.  The kids made turtles using paper plates and bingo daubers to decorate the shell.  They are very creative in color. We ate our snack and then I read the story of Jonah and the Whale to them while we waited our turn to go outside to ride the "wheels". We were outside for a while riding the different wheel toys set out.  A few friends brought their bikes but we had plenty for everyone to play on. Some of the preschool classes came out while we were on the parking lot riding and there were some brothers and sisters of our little ones in that group. They all had fun playing together.  We used the parking lot as it had more room for the kids to ride and avoid any mud that may have been on our playground.  The lot was blocked off with cones and we had leaders and aides watching different areas to avoid any issues. We came back in to rest a bit and do some dancing before lunch.

Working very hard on decorating their turtle shells.  Bingo daubers can be a bit messy so a few friends may have colored fingers or hands.

Looking at our turtle, Donatello.  He has been in our classroom for about 2 years now.  He will swim to where the kids are looking at him.  He is very friendly and inquisitive.

Outside on the parking lot riding the toys.  There were bicycles, cars and other riders for the kids to play on.  They all shared the toys so that everyone had a chance to ride on some kind of "wheels". It was just nice to be outside in the fresh air.
