The bible story for the week is Joshua and the Walls of Jericho.  Our theme will sometimes work with the bible story.  The theme for this week is castles.  Castles have tall walls which are hard to break.

Today we were able to get out and play early before the heat got too much.  It was a pretty morning to be out.  We came in and colored paper plates to make shakers out of.  We enjoyed a small cupcake treat from one of our friends, Jiffy, who had a birthday over the weekend.  Everyone enjoyed it and we sang Happy Birthday to him as well.

We went over to the other ELP room to work on adding beans, jingle bells, and other things to make noise to the paper plates to make our musical instruments.  There was a wall for the kids to walk around and make noise with the shakers to portray the walls of Jericho coming down.  All the kids had fun shaking their instruments and marching around.

A few of the kids used legos to make designs on the paper with paint.  It was interesting to see how they used the legos.

The kids sat at the table before snack to color the outside of their shakers.

Filling the paper shakers to make noise.

Marching around the room to portray how the priests marched around the walls of Jericho. They were making noise with the shakers they had made.

Mrs. Koenig from our other ELP room talking to the kids about the wall.  They helped build the block wall.

 The wall came crashing down.
